Bike or Hike + Beers- Let’s walk & roll June 20th!

Let’s welcome the warmer weather with another Bike & Hike event!

We’re heading south to La Pine State Park. You can choose to Hike or ride your Mountain bike.

BIKES: The route will be moderate, fairly flat, with a couple climbs and maybe a rock garden or two that you are welcome to walk your bikes through. We will be riding the Fall River Loop, which is about about 11 miles. The round trip will take about 1.5 – 2 hrs to allow for photo opps with the beautiful Fall & Deschutes Rivers as backdrops. At various points along the way, we will stop to regroup. No one will be left behind.

REQUIREMENTS:   You will need a mountain or gravel bike in good working order. (No road bikes or cruisers), a helmet, closed-toe shoes, snacks and plenty of water are also required. Most of the local bike shops in town rent mountain bikes, so check it out. Participants should have a full understanding of how the bike gears work and how to use both front and rear brakes. NOTE: Our local trails do not allow e-Bikes, so leave those at home.

HIKES:  The route will be moderate, fairly flat, meandering along the gorgeous clear waters of the Fall River. From the Trailhead you can decide together which way to go. Plan to walk out about 1 hour, 10 minutes then turn around to meet back at the trailhead to catchup with the Bike girls. Wear sturdy shoes, bring plenty of water and snacks if you need them. Like the bike girls, we will be taking scenic photos to mark our passage! Fall River Loop Check back as we get closer to the event date as some details may be modified.

Afterwards, we will caravan to enjoy a cold beer together at Sunriver Brewing in Sunriver! 

Directions—Head north on HWY 97 from Bend, go past the turnoff to Sunriver, then turn right on Vandevert. Directions to the trailhead will be posted soon!
