Adventure time with River views! Join us for another Hike & Bike event!

We’re heading south to La Pine State Park. Choose to Hike or ride your MTB!

BIKES: The route will be moderate, fairly flat, with a couple climbs and downhills that you are welcome to walk your bikes through. We will be riding the Deschutes & Fall River Loops— our route will be about 8 miles. The round trip will take about 1.5 – 2 hrs to allow for photo opps with the beautiful Fall & Deschutes Rivers as backdrops. At various points/junctions, we will stop to regroup. No one will be left behind.

REQUIREMENTS:   You will need a mountain or gravel bike in good working order. (No road bikes or cruisers), a helmet, closed-toe shoes, snacks and plenty of water are also required. Participants should have a full understanding of how the bike gears work and how to use both front and rear brakes.
NOTE: Our local trails do not allow e-Bikes, so leave those at homeMost of the local bike shops in town rent mountain bikes, so check it out.

HIKES:  The route will be moderate, fairly flat, meandering along the gorgeous clear waters of the Deschutes River. From the Deschutes Day Use Area you can decide together which way to go. The trails are well-marked and have maps at most junctions. Plan to walk out about 1 hour, 10 minutes then turn around to meet back at the trailhead to catchup with the Bike girls. Wear sturdy shoes, bring plenty of water and snacks if you need them. Like the bike girls, we will be taking scenic photos to mark our passage!

PONIT OF INTEREST:
Less than a mile from the trailhead where we will park is the “Heritage Tree”, Oregon’s largest ponderosa pine, thought to be 500-plus years old!

DIRECTIONS:  About 25-30 miles south of Bend (depending on where you are coming from), follow these directions to the PIN dropped at the Deschutes Day Use Area. BTW!! After you turn right from HWY 97, towards La Pine State Park, you will drive about 4 miles before you see the “official” entrance into La Pine State Park. From there, take your first left into the Deschutes Day Use Area- large parking lot and all areas are well marked. Try to be on time so we can stick to the roll out/walk out time of 1:30pm.

Sunriver BrewingAfterwards, we will caravan to enjoy a cold beer together at Sunriver Brewing in Sunriver!

This event is limited to current Beer Angel Members only. If you have not signed up yet, scoot over to the Signup page and join us for Beer discounts from our amazing Partners as well as private, exclusive events such as this above.  Check back as we get closer to the event as some details may be modified.
